Sugar Bowl Cabin

Ground up construction of a contemporary ski house on the slopes of the Sugar Bowl Ski Resort. Inspired by the beautiful surroundings the architecture and design incorporate materials that provide function and are true to the setting. Sierra White granite at the base of the house provides a footing for the natural cedar wood exterior siding. The roof is comprised of a planar zinc roof to shed the snow. The interior is supported by decorative structural steel to carry roof snow loads and also allowed for large south facing windows for views and passive solar gain.
